QUASI

is a Bristol based curatorial collective aiming to generate a fresh and unusual art scene within the city and beyond. They hope to create a space for emerging and non-emerging artists to grow and connect with a broader audience.

The group was born from a dissatisfaction with the art scene in Bristol which they believe is stifling thanks to the ever-increasing push toward gentrification and commercialisation. They believe that the rapid closure of grass roots venues for shared culture in the city has deprived new generations of artists of the opportunity to develop their practice and grow.

QUASI is constantly evolving.

QUASI is constantly questioning.

QUASI is not what you think it is.

The ‘QUASI Debut Exhibition’ explores life in the 21st century from the view of 12 emerging artists connected through their delicate critique of the contemporary. It reflects upon, questions and challenges the norms of life in the information age and the chaos inherent within it that we choose to ignore.

The exhibition featured painting, print, sculpture, video, performance and installation. This variety conveys the bizarre and scattered actuality of the everyday experience.
